A REAL WINNER OF THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE!
John Gebhardt’s wife, Mindy, said that this little girl’s entire family was executed. The insurgents intended to execute the little girl also, and shot her in the head…but they failed to kill her.  She was cared for in John’s hospital and is healing up, but continues to cry and moan. The nurses said John is the only one who seems to calm her down, so John has spent the last...

the season of quirky but awesome gifts
This Christmas has been different in the way of meaningful gifts compared to recent years. However, it has also been the year for, as the title of this post suggests, especially unique gifts. Through the blur in this picture from our aging camera, you may be able to make out the words “THE CLAPPER.” 1st prize: Jordan. The sad part: we really use it.   2nd prize: Tommy with...

CHRISTmas
Luke 2 The Birth of Jesus In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world…And everyone went to his own town to register.  So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be...

Every jet on the apron, each SAM in its tube, Was triply-redundant linked to the Blue Cube, And ELINT and AWACS gave coverage so dense That nothing that flew could slip through our defense. ...

Salvation Air Force
I went to my first DEP (Delayed Entry Program) meeting today, which was a Salvation Army event where I helped pack up Christmas goods to needy famillies in Winchester. It was pretty slow and really cold, but it was good to finally be doing something with the AF and try to meet new DEP people. Thanks to Clayton for coming along. I found out one of the kids I did my initial processing with will be...

Dec 1st, 2009...amen!
Got an email from a little girl today that had a heart-wrenching story about a little boy believing in God, and at the end was this quote by someone in the middle of the mess we’ve made out of this country: “The quote of the month is by Jay Leno: ‘With hurricanes, tornadoes, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to...
