What a difference church makes
While it is heartbreaking to me to know how few church goers there are in the military, it really hits home to attend a chapel service at a deployed location. The service I went to today had 18. That’s about 6 more than the one I attended 2 weeks ago. Today I went to a Church of Christ service, which reminded me of a couple churches from my childhood - no instruments, but singing straight from hymnals with some of the best voices I’ve heard in months. However, given the what some might call primitive nature of how the service played out, it caused me to really focus on the message and thank the Lord that I was there at that moment with people who knew and loved Him. I can only pray that my schedule allows more days like this.
