Bennett is 6 weeks old today? Wow. This “little blessed one” lives up to his name, and we are so thankful to God for His wisdom and healing as we have been dealing with some health issues with Bennett. I feel like the acid reflux is improving, and this week we met with the ENT who determined that Bennett was severely tongue tied - typically they “clip” their tongues at 5 months with anesthesia, but B’s tongue was interfering with his eating and the use of his mouth too much so they went ahead. Bennett was such a trooper; he left the office with a fully functioning tongue and a Spiderman sticker. Since the procedure he hasn’t kept that tongue still, moving it from side to side, sticking it out of his mouth for the first time, and opening his mouth wide to smile. And we are so stinking happy to report that as of yesterday Bennett has been nursing like a champ! In the last 24 hours his feedings (previously nightmarish with lots of choking and throwing up) have been smooth and calm - such an answer to prayer! Now if we can get his painful gas out of the way we will have a happy man on our hands. Please keep him in your prayers and join us in praising the Lord for all He has done!
We head to Virginia on Thursday. Bennett will meet a whole lot of aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents, and get a chance to visit with good friends on Saturday. Whew traveling out of state with an infant should be interesting!
Here is to another great week with our son! We’ll take lots of pictures on our road trip.
